I seen on your facebook page that you posed coupons from the Louisville paper! I’m not too far from Louisville! (Don’t get that paper delivered here :( ) but that it was cool that we might not bee too far from each other!

I am so glad that couponing has finally caught on. My mother used coupons as I was growing up, and she taught me to never leave home wihtout them. Last year a coupon enabled us to go on vacation for 5 days in Gatlingurg, anf go to Ripleys aquarium, Dixie Stampede, Dollywood, Ripleys haunted house, wax museum, and Ripleys beleive it or not, all for $448 and this was for all four of us total. I think all the support is a great motivator for us all. Thank You for your website and blog!!

I HAVE BEEN USING COUPONS THESE LAST FEW MONTHS, BUT I USUALLY ONLY SAVE ABOUT $20-30 DOLLARS OFF. I HAVE TRIED TO FIND COUPONS FOR EVERYTHING ON MY LIST, SOMETIMES I’D GET LUCKY, AND SOMETIMES WON’T FIND ANYTHING. DOES ANY ONE HAVE ANY ADVICE? DAIRY PRODUCTS, MEATS, FROZEN FOODS, PRODUCE AND BREADS ARE MAINLY MY HARD ITEMS TO FIND. I AM THE ONLY PARENT IN THE HOME RIGHT NOW AND INCOME RIGHT NOW AND UNFORTUNATELY GET TOLD I MAKE TOO MUCH TO GET ASSISTANCE BUT NOT ENOUGH TO PAY MY BILLS ON TIME UNFORTUNATELY LIKE I WANT TO. APPRECIATE ANY ADVICE….

Please help, I’m confused. I thought all of the Winn-Dixie stores were closed around the Louisville area. Then I noticed today that you have listed some deals for Winn-Dixie. Is there still a store open close? Thank you!

Reply

Julia June 7, 2011 at 9:56 am

There are no Winn Dixie Stores in the Louisville area. I post Winn Dixie deals as I have readers from across the USA so I try and cover as many bases as I can. :)

Reply

Judi C March 13, 2012 at 10:14 am

Wow. Our Winn-Dixie closed over 5 years ago. I thought the whole company had gone out of business. I guess they just majorly down-sized. You learn something new every day.

Just wanted to pass on a great new daily deal site, DealRhino.net. They give back a minimum of 30% to non profits, that the buyer chooses. They are located primarily in SC right now, but will go nationwide. They are currently running a $50 Amazon gift card giveway, sign up for daily emails, then go to the facebook page and enter on the contest tab. First giveway ends midnight 11/16/11. Tell everyone Couponing to be Debt Free sent you and the top referral will also get one!

Hello, I am new to couponing also. I started in May 2011. I am saving maybe about $40 or $50. I would like to buy $137.00 of groceries and just pay under $10.00. What are some of your strategies. I live in Lexington Ky. It’s good to find another person from Kentucky who is trying to save money and get out of debt.

I am very new to this as well. I recently suffered a herniated disc and decided that this down time gives me the opportunity to finally learn this couponing thing. I have watched extreme couponing and its very exciting and scary all at the same time. I live in Central Florida with no Bi-Lo’s or Krogers. Can someone tell me if its possible to save as much as you are being down here?

I live near Tampa. It is disappointing that there are no stores that double. I just heard that Dollar Tree will accept coupons now, but only 2 per transaction, and must be for less than the value of the item. I do believe that there are many ways to save with coupons- even in Florida!

Hitchcock’s Super Valu has double coupons…I live in Clay Co. Florida-Keystone Heights…I know there is one in Alachua, but unsure about the rest of the state.

@Jeanette you can save as much as possible. Just read the couponing blogs every day and get tips for each one of them. It will take time, but you can save hundreds of dollars with ease. This is why I and millions of people love coupons.

when you contact companies for possible coupons – how extensive to you make your emails. Could you give a little sample of what you would send. I have sent several emails of this sort — but have had no luck so far — just wandering what I may be doing wrong.

Hi Julia: New to couponing in last 6 months. Totally committed to it now. I would love to find others close to where I live to swap coupons they are not using or I am not using. I get 4 newspapers a week and collect off internet. I am wanting to donate products to the needy but have not found a way to collect coupons in mass quantity. Any advice? Love your site and suggestions

I find that the whole weekly couponing thing has not worked for our lifestyle. It’s just the two of us, so shopping is sometimes sporadic. I found a pin that told about a site that matches up super-duper deals – aka free or close to it – and if there is something that I use, I will stockpile that item, rather than trying to do a lot all at once. The key is where to find these coupons if you don’t purchase a bunch of papers or have other access… so, to purchase them at .20 per insert or so is really a good deal for me. I am not trying to advertise for my personal gain, but to offer what has been a great resource for me. This is the super-duper deal site: grocerysmarts.com look for 5 star deals. This is where you can purchase some coupons cheap: sundaycouponinserts.com as well as ebay, but you need to get them as soon as the deal hits, or they’ll be gone.

Hope you allow this to post, as it seems to be a good alternative to some who have little time or acces to coupons.

I got some great deals at Harris Teeter this weekend. I love their e-vic specials. I got a 12oz bag of Starbucks coffee (reg. $10.99) for $4.47. I also had a $4 off my next order coupon so really I got it for $0.47. On that order I only paid $6.29 for $22.86 worth of products. That is a 72.5% savings. Granted I don’t do that good on a regular shopping trip but every now and then I get good deals. A few weeks ago, I stocked my hubby up on deodorant (8 sticks) for $8. This is deodorant that is regularly $4+ a stick. That will probably last him a year or more. Thanks for posting deals. The past few weeks I haven’t been able to view your blog but it finally opened up for me.

Thank you so much for making an easy site to follow. I just recently got back to couponing and was looking for better tips. I live in NW Arkansas, so the only stores around here are Walgreen’s, Target, and of course, Wal-Mart. I use most of my coupons at Walgreen’s. Once again, thank you for the help.

Hi, Teresa,
I live in western AR, but I visit my sister often in NWA. I have been a die-hard couponer for about 5 years now. I have found that if I drive up to Jane in MO to shop at Wal-Mart there I get better deals. Would love to correspond with you about local deals and savings!

Hi,
I think I read at one time that you are out in Spencer Co? So am I! I was so excited to come across your website. I have been into the free sample/couponing thing for about a year now. It helps that I have a sister and sister-in-law that are both bloggers for savings. But I find that each of us have our own thing that we get into more than others.

I really love your coupon database. What a great resource.

Just wanted to say “hi, neighbor!” And thanks for putting together such a great blog.

I’m so glad I’ve finally stumbled across a coupon blogger from my area! I live in Bardstown, KY. I’ve tried asking other bloggers for help, but they don’t understand how hard it is to find those amazing deals in an area that simply doesn’t have stores that double or triple coupons! If you know of any tips, PLEASE let Me know. At this point I’m only saving like $20 per transaction. Which normally wouldn’t be an issue, but my fiancé and I want to try and pay off our debt before our wedding on 10.months!
