1. WAGS is the abbreviation that is commonly used to represent Walgreens.
2. RR stands for Register Rewards. RR are printed from Catalina machines at Walgreens and are earned for buying specific products. You can use them on your next purchase to buy anything you would like except for the following items: alcohol, lottery tickets, dairy, tax, tobacco, stamps, or gift cards.
3. You may only use as many manufacturer coupons and RR as you have items. For example: You buy 4 items. You cannot use more than 4 manufacturer coupons, or a combination of 4 RR and manufacturer coupons. Store coupons are not considered when applying this rule.
4. You will see match-ups that list fillers. Fillers are really cheap items that can be bought so that you can use more coupons and more RR.
5. RR do not roll. That means that if you earn $2.00 in RR for buying a certain deodorant, you cannot use that $2.00 to purchase that same deodorant again and receive $2.00 more in RR.
6. RR usually last 2 weeks – however sometimes they last for a shorter time period. Make sure you pay attention to the expiration date on the RR. I have not found a Walgreens that will take expired RR.
7. If your RR don’t print, double check that you bought the correct products. If you did, you have 3 options:
- Notify your cashier and have the manager check your order. Sometimes the manager can fix it for you (I have had a manager refund cash to me when the RR didn’t print – he didn’t know what else to do to make it work).
- Return your items immediately – don’t forget to ask for your coupons back.
- Call the Catalina company at 1-888-322-3814. You will need to give them some information from your receipt. They will mail the RR to you (it takes 6 – 8 weeks to get them).
8. Prices at Walgreens can vary. I have shopped at 2 different Walgreens only a few miles apart and the prices were different.

I have received and used RR quite a bit since starting couponing just recently and love them!!
I love RRs, but sometimes they expire so quickly! Great tips!
I love them too but I agree with Emily they expire way too quickly.
I love them too but I agree with Emily they expire way too quickly.
I love RR but what is even better is that we have a Grocery Store Chain that has agreed to take the RR, so, it is GREAT when there is a HOT deal at the Grocery Store.
It is fun shopping at WAGS.
thanks for the info.
Thanx for the WAGS tips.
Successful at getting RR…now I need to establish a habit of hitting Walgreens regularly so I don’t let them expire.
Thank you for explaining this. I was completely confused with Walgreens. I asked the cashier if the RR worked this way and she told me no, you just get points on your card to get prizes. I think she maybe misunderstood me as she was seasoned as she was very helpful in other ways.
I have no problem going through the line again with a new order and use my RR right then and there. The cashiers at my Walgreens don’t mind at all, in fact they are impressed by my couponing skills.
I love my WAGS. The cashiers are always so helpful and work with me in making all my transactions.
Never been to Walgreens either, another store to add to my list
I’m just starting to coupon and will hit the nearest Walgreens today. Thanks!
Thankyou much…!
I still do not understand about filler items?
Read this post about filler items. It should help you. http://couponingtobedebtfree.com/2011/06/13/whats-the-point-of-a-filler-item-at-walgreens/
So I’m a huge Walgreens fan…and I didn’t know anything about this stuff…thanks for the tips!!! I’ll be putting to great use
